Not-Back-to-School Picnic

Jasmine & I organized the 1st annual Not-Back-to-School picnic in Keene. Because Jasmine has a passion for planning parties and events, this gives her a chance to delve into this passion of hers. There was a lot of preparation; we planned the party, bought supplies, invited people, and set up up the park in a festive way. Jasmine chose to make balloon animals for the guests.

The result was awesome! We had over 30 people, and all had an amazing time celebrating homeschooling! The support is important to have, especially for Jasmine, because she is constantly inundated with school chatter. If it were not for interacting with other people doing homeschooling, one could feel awfully alone.

Now we are committed happily to another year of homeschooling/unschooling. Another year of limitless learning and creativity. With no curriculum and no rules, there is nothing to stifle the natural progression and process of learning; there are infinite possibilities where the learning adventures can flow, not only for Jasmine but for me as well!
